James Gold

My career and passion for automotive started in the mid 90s. My grandfather spent my entire summers with me teaching me how to weld, repair and use tools. He showed me patience pays off. Also how quality the first time is the only way. He was one of a kind, and I miss him everyday. I then started off just like everyone else, doing oil changes minor repairs at a Penske Auto Center in Cary. In the first 3 months I was hooked. I moved up very quickly and became a tech. I then joined the US Army and came back from that much more grounded and ready to take on the world.

I started at a local Chevrolet dealer in Raleigh where I became a Master certified line tech. They closed and I moved to Thompson Cadillac. I decided that I wanted to do my own thing and started a company called Tuner Solutions. We basically built high end imports. Race setups, engine swaps etc. I sold that company and I went back to local companies to work and learn the management side of automotive which lead me to 4 Wheel Parts where I stayed for 13 years. In that time I met and married my beautiful Wife. We had 2 amazing kids.

I then decided it was time to jump back into my own company again, and in 2018 we started Dealer lifts. Dealer Lifts has grown so fast over these short few years and not because of me. It’s because I have the best team and family you could ever imagine that believes in me, believes in Dealer Lifts! I could not have ever done this without them. We are a brand that always puts quality first no matter what! It is burned into our daily programming. Every person that walks through our door is treated like family. I truly love what I do and have enjoyed watching the automotive industry grow and change. I look forward to seeing it keep growing and being a part of its big future.
